Welcome to Uma Arts and Nathiba Commerce Mahila College !

  • Established in 1991 by Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal, Uma Arts and Nathiba Commerce Mahila College provides facilities of higher education at UG and PG levels to the young women.
     The Emblem of our institution is: ‘Satyam Param Dhimahi’
     The Motto of our college is : Kar Bhala Hoga Bhala / ‘ Do good, good will come to you’
     The vision of the college is: “to attain social upliftment by empowering women through value-based education”
    The goal of our college is to enable all of our young female students to grow up to be “Daheli-Deep” in order to enlighten the world around them through high quality education, to create bridges binding society together and thus bring about social development;
    Our college is affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmdabad with the excellent results it has achieved over the years, consecutively, with hundreds of its graduates, well placed in life.
    Ours is a multi–stream college offering courses in Arts & Commerce, the B.A., B. Com. and M.A. Degree courses. The Institution enables students to have adequate academic flexibility in terms of choice of subjects and changes thereof, and time-frame for completion.

  • Established in 1991 by Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal, Uma Arts and Nathiba Commerce Mahila College provides facilities of higher education at UG and PG levels to the young women, in pursuit of academic excellence and to help them in the development of their intellectual, physical and moral faculties in safe surroundings with a view to making them disciplined citizens of our country.
  • A philanthropic visionary Sri Chhaganbha established our Trust, Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal, in 1919 at a time when the concept of education was unheard of in Northern Gujarat and when class and caste bias severely limited the availability of educational opportunities to the general populace.
    Our college has been accredited by NAAC with B++ Grade in 2006 and with A Grade (CGPA – 3.21) in NAAC Reaccreditation (Cycle-2) in 2011. The college has also undergone the process of AAA (Academic and Administrative Audit) conducted by Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG), Government of Gujarat in 2017 and obtained A Grade. In NAAC Reaccreditation (Cycle-3) the college has again obtained Grade: A (CGPA – 3.32) in 2017.
  • As a result of constant efforts made by all of us to constantly scale greater and still greater heights, the college has been awarded with the status of College with Potential for Excellence, Phase I, by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, in 2011. The UGC expert committee has also awarded our college the status of CPE Phase II from April 2017.
  • Education Department, Government of Gujarat has awarded our college “for Excellence in National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for betterment of Education, Society and Nation in the category of Grant- in -aid College (Non- Technical) at Grand Education Fair- 2018” on 2nd February,2018.The college has been given the grant of Rs. 2 Crore by RUSA(Rastriya Uchchtar Shiksha Abhiyan) for new construction and renovation of the college building, in 2019.

    • I welcome you on behalf of the staff as well as the office-bearers of the Management to Uma Arts & Nathiba Commerce Mahila College, Gandhinagar, affiliated to Gujarat University Ahmadabad. The aim of education, as it has been accepted by all of us today, is not only to enable the individual to get employment only but also to impart values, to help the student to grow by bringing out his/her own inner potentialities and capacities.
    • The vision of our college is “to attain social upliftment by empowering women through value-based education”. The number of students coming from urban areas of Gandhinagar and Ahmadabad remains equal to the number of students coming from the nearby villages as well as far off places of Gujarat. Students coming from far off places take advantage of the girls’ hostel situated in the campus itself. The college provides support to all the female students of the college by conducting regular curricular activities along with a host of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in the college, like NCC, NSS, Sports, Saptdhara, Finishing school etc.
    • We aim at enriching students’ experience at the college at its utmost level. We wish that the years they spend in this college may become fruitful, that they gain in terms of knowledge, skill enhancement and personality development. It is a matter of pleasure for us that our alumni are doing us proud both in India and abroad.
    • With the active support of the UGC CPE grant, RUSA grant and the matching share of the Management as well as the motivating policies of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Gujarat through Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG), the quality of education provided in our college has seen remarkable enhancement of its quality due to augmented infrastructure, faculty development programmes, students enrichment programmes. We hope to continue the tradition and contribute something meaningful to the nation through the same quality initiatives and social service.
