Arctic Summer School 2019: Tornio FINLAND

Comprehensive tour of Tornio, Finland, perfect for our first-time visiting students. Teams of 7 Master Degree students of different braches like Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Management along with one faculty of computer science of Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalay are at the Tornio, Finland to attend artic summer school program on Digital Strategies and Marketing for 20 Days.

They reached at Tornio on 23 July 2019 at 1.30am IST. Team students and faculties were already there to welcome team from KSV at Lapland UAS, Tornio. Team KSV is very much thankful to Teresa Chen and Pulakka Natalia for homely welcome. They are so supportive and professional in their duties. First days was started with breakfast and registration process. Then Chen Teresa has given brief about finish culture and history. After that Sisko Kalliokoski , tourism officer has provide the guidelines about the Tornio city using the city map. Also she has provided the tourism places at Tornio and Haparanda , two countries in one town. After that Pulakka Natalia has took all the participants for the city tour of Tornio. There all participants met with Eija-Sinikka Juho , manager of Rajalla Mall who is former student of Lapland UAS. All the students have assigned to prepare a pitch on personal balanced scorecard given by Sr. Lecturer Antony Okuogume. He is the residential mentor of the program.

Competence development based learning in professional master education

KSV participants interacted with Finnish Media, started with the introduction of few words finish language vocabulary. Then Anthony has started with digital marketing strategies and preparation for industrial visit. Digital solutions customer engagement, industry analysis, PEST Techniques have been discussed. Antony has introduced his three students doing research project on Video game market pricing strategies. All three Students had shared their experience in writing that research article. And later part of the day, Antony has given a team work task to prepare A3 canvas to map week end learning outcome. All participants had mapped their understanding about lessons learnt during week on digital strategies and its implications. All participating team has nicely represented it’s on an A3 canvas. At the end of session Antony gave reflections on it and appreciated all participants. 

Attended the “Artic Smart Village” industry presentation by Juri Lurila, CEO. As we reached at Lapaland AMK , Rovaniemi , finish lunch was ready to eat. All participants enjoyed vegetarian, eggetarian and non-vegetarian finish food. Seminar on business model of Artic Smart Village by Juri started after lunch. Learning outcome of seminar is all participants could understand the difference between India’s Smart City concept and Artic Smart Village concept at Finland. Another objective of ASV is to bring back village people from city by providing various facilities through technology without harming environment. The main objective is to adopting smart technologies in all the aspect at village by way of improving environment and health of people at Finland. He has addressed possibilities and challenges of this business model. Then all went to visit Santa Clause Village and enjoyed the Arctic Circle crossing line.
